The new 2015 Subaru Impreza compact gets a price drop in Australia. Why does Impreza drop nearly 12 percent?
The 2015 Subaru Impreza compact gets new exterior styling, improved interior quality and enhanced infotainment across the entire range. At the same time, Subaru Australia drops the price on the all-wheel-drive models even further from January’s $500 reduction when the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Japan came into effect. The reason for the decrease in price is due to the very favorable exchange rate with the Japanese Yen.
Range topping 2.0i-S gets 11.5 percent decrease
The biggest and most significant price drop comes in the range topping 2015 Impreza 2.0i-S. The new 2.0i-S gets an upgraded CVT shifter surround, stitching on leather trim is now silver instead of black, Multi-Information Display unit, sporty boot lip spoiler (2.0i-S Sedan only) and additional USB connection.
With the big price decrease, Subaru expects the 2.0i-S to be a hot seller in the lineup. Subaru Managing Director, Nick Senior, said, “We anticipate significant interest in the 2.0i-S, which is a comprehensively equipped small car with a sunroof, leather and premium infotainment including factory fitted Sat Nav. A reduction of 11.5 per cent on the December pricing is massive and we hope to attract new customers to this variant.”
Subaru drops 2.0i-L model
Subaru has shuffled other models in the lineup and is dropping the mid-spec 2.0i-L model. This is replaced by the 2.0i Premium, which includes leather seats and steering wheel, reverse camera and fog lights over the entry level model. Subaru expects this variant to be the number one volume model because it gets upgrades over the outgoing 2.0i-L model and comes with an attractive price.
In many compacts, the back seat is a place to avoid. In the 2015 Impreza, it features one of the roomiest in the segment. The hatchback is ideal for singles who will be taking friends up the mountain to go skiing, or young families loading up the kids to go to the...read more.
The new Impreza is not the only Subaru models to get a price reduction. The 2015 Subaru Outback received a huge price drop when it launched late last year. The base 2.0-liter diesel manual model opens the Outback range $5,000 cheaper than before and the 3.6R flagship comes in $10,000 less than the outgoing model.
Australians will be getting a good value with the new 2015 Subaru Impreza. With the new infotainment changes, cabin refinements and sporty styling upgrades, the price drop will spur plenty of interest in the newly updated all-wheel-drive compact.
