The 2016 Pure Red Special Edition Subaru Crosstrek broke cover at the Chicago Auto Show this week. Check out the full gallery.
Subaru likes to come out with special edition models and the new 2016 Pure Red Special Edition Subaru Crosstrek is another one for Subaru enthusiasts. It’s called Pure Red and only 1500 examples will be built for the U.S. market. It was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show this week. Our own Patrick Rall was there to snap some good shots of the new red special edition Crosstrek.
You might remember the Sunrise Yellow special edition Crosstrek launched last year. This follows that model and gets similar exterior and interior treatments. It comes with the “Pure Red” exterior color and matching foldable mirrors with integrated turn signals. There’s more red inside.
Special red accents inside
On the inside, this limited edition Crosstrek gets Red stitching accents on the leather-wrapped shift lever handle, steering wheel and door panels. Other special features include interior dash trim with a red inlay, special “red” interior lighting casting a soft red glow onto the front floor area and storage space below the climate control.
Crosstrek in the news
Crosstrek has been in the news lately and has been selling at record clips in the U.S. and Canada. In the U.S., Crosstrek had its best December ever and best year ever in 2015. Sales were up 25.3 percent year to date second only to the hot WRX/STI in percentage of increase. In Canada, the crossover sales were up an extraordinary 71.6 percent in December.
Subaru’s Crosstrek crossover just picked up a residual value award from ALG for the very first time. The Crosstrek was just announced as a 2016 ALG Canadian Residual Value award winner in the Compact Car segment. The Pure Red Special Edition 2016 Subaru Crosstrek will arrive in late spring 2016. Pricing will be announced closer to dealer launch. If you like Pure Red, you could have one of only 1500 on the road.

I have been following this
I have been following this for about a week now, and I've yet to see any photos of the interior they keep talking about. Can you update this post if/when you get them? I'll bookmark this page in case you're able to do that.
Thank You,
-Erin
They haven't made any yet.
They haven't made any yet. The one the unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show was just a Pure Red painted Limited Crosstrek with blacked out windows so you couldn't see inside. The interior of the 2016 special edition is exactly like the 2016 Premium Crosstrek with two exceptions. 1 - red stitching instead of orange, and 2 - red floor lighting which is already an existing option on all 2016 Crosstreks.
