If you are waiting to buy a new car, here are the latest Subaru models for the next three years. See which next-generation vehicles you want to wait for before purchasing a new car this winter.
Should you buy a 2023 model Subaru Crosstrek, Forester, or Impreza? Check out what's coming in the next four years before you buy now. Next-generation models are coming this year, and some are coming in the next three years. Here is the 2024 to 2026 Subaru model preview.
The first half of 2023
The 2024 Subaru Impreza hatchback gets a complete remodel and will arrive this spring for U.S. shoppers. There's a new RS trim level with the 2.5-liter engine upgrade customers will want to wait for. It will have more power and fuel efficiency than the current generation models. Check out the complete new model upgrades and trim guide here.
In the second half of 2023
The 2024 Subaru Forester will get a complete redesign.
The 2024 Subaru Forester gets a complete remodel, but the new upgrades have yet to be announced. Forester will get updated exterior styling, interior upgrades, infotainment, and next-generation safety features. Subaru is tight-lipped about future product plans, and they have made no announcements about the 2024 Forester.
If everything goes as expected, the compact SUV will be redesigned in the second half of 2023 and be available as a 2024 model. The anticipated 2024 Forester release date in the U.S. is about nine months away, in the Fall of 2023.
The 2024 Crosstrek will get a complete redesign.
Subaru Corporation has announced the next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, but Subaru of America has yet to reveal the new U.S.-specification third-generation subcompact SUV. It will get a slightly new exterior design, upgrades to the interior, improved driving dynamics, and new safety upgrades.
In the U.S., Crosstrek will likely continue with the 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter Boxer engines. Subaru could increase the horsepower and torque but needs to keep the fuel efficiency the same or improve it. We don't expect the Crosstrek to get the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine.
Subaru of America will get a new 2024 Crosstrek Wilderness rugged trim level to fill out the new sub-brand in North America. The all-new Crosstrek Wilderness will arrive later than the standard model. The 2024 Crosstrek will be available in the U.S. in the fall or winter of 2023. Outdoor enthusiasts can expect the Crosstrek Wilderness in early 2024. Stay tuned.
The Subaru Ascent 3-Row family hauler should have received a redesign in 2024 models. But due to supply chain issues and parts shortages, Subaru gave the Ascent a refresh this year, and it will get few changes in 2024. Subaru will likely delay the redesign of the Ascent until 2025 models.
2025 model preview
The 2025 Subaru Outback and Legacy will get a complete redesign.
The 2023 Subaru Outback and Legacy received a refresh in 2024. In the following year of its product cycle, the 2024 Outback midsize sedan, Ascent 3-Row family hauler, and Legacy midsize sedan will get few, if any, upgrades. There is no advantage for customers to wait for the 2024 models.
They won't get a complete redesign, but significant changes are coming for the 2025 Outback, Legacy, and Ascent models.
2026 model preview
The Subaru Solterra refresh
Because Subaru of America has sold its allotment of the 2023 Solterra EV, customers who order a new battery-electric Solterra now will likely get the 2024 Solterra models that will be delivered next year. Subaru will make few changes to the 2024 model year only in its second year of production. But there will be a price increase.
The 2025 Solterra will get a few upgrades, but the EV will get a complete refresh in 2026. This is when customers will see significant changes.
WRX refresh
The 2024 Subaru WRX performance sedan WRX will be in the third year of its production life cycle. The 2024 WRX could get some upgrades to its options and trim packages. We expect no significant improvements until the 2025 models.
BRZ refresh
The 2024 Subaru BRZ is also in its third year of production since its complete remodel. The BRZ sports coupe could get minor upgrades but nothing significant. We expect no significant improvements until the 2025 models.

It says the 2024 Impreza RS gets the 2.5L, when the RS gets the 2.4T (260hp) while the rest of the models get the 2.5L (182hp).
And this says the 2023 gets a refresh for 2024 when it already got it's refresh in 2023, and won't get another until it gets a full redesign for 2025.
Tsk.
