Subaru of America (SOA) announced that the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness trim level has more improvements than the previous model. In addition, Subaru USA also announced pricing for the more rugged midsize SUV. Here are the 2024 Outback Wilderness improvements and the one new upgrade that customers will like the best, and it's better than the contemporary exterior styling.
Outback Wilderness upgrades
For 2024, the Outback Wilderness now receives a more rugged look thanks to a new front fascia featuring a redesigned bumper and LED fog lights paired with a more prominent front grille. These exterior upgrades bring the Wilderness trim up to what the 2023 Outback received one year ago. So now the Wilderness trim level looks like the rest of the Outback lineup. Again, it's a great look, but another upgrade is even better.
Customers have requested one significant Wilderness improvement from SOA since the Outback was redesigned in 2022. Finally, the Outback Wilderness gets a 360-degree heated steering wheel. It's now standard on the recently-updated 2024 Outback Wilderness.
Customers in Canada had the Outback Wilderness trim with a heated steering wheel in the 2022 models, but for some unknown reason, the U.S.-specification Outback Wilderness models did not get the upgrade. But the 2024 models now finally get the heated steering wheel.
In addition to the Wilderness trim, the 360-degree heated steering wheel also comes standard on the 2024 Outback Onyx Edition and Onyx Edition XT for the first time. It's the Outback upgrade customers have wanted for years. It could be the most significant improvement for the 2024 models.
Customers in colder climates will appreciate the added warmth of having the heat on their hands. U.S. customers won't need gloves when the temperature drops below freezing in the Northeast, Rocky Mountains, and the Northwest. Instead, they say, "thank you, Subaru of America!"
What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness?
For the 2024 model year, the Outback will be available in nine trim levels. The Base is priced at $30,190, Premium ($32,490), Onyx Edition ($37,400), Limited ($37,090), Touring ($41,640), Onyx Edition XT ($40,655), Wilderness ($41,255), Limited XT ($41,490), and Touring XT ($44,090). In addition, destination and delivery fees are included in the price above ($1,295).
How much did the 2024 Outback Wilderness increase in price?
All Outback trim level's prices increased by $570 except for the Onyx Edition, which had a $2,680 jump. The Wilderness increased by $1,585, and the Onyx Edition XT price raised $835. Dealer fees increased by $70 per vehicle.
Subaru of America announced new upgrades for the outdoor-themed 2024 Outback Wilderness. The heated steering wheel is the one new upgrade that's the best. Next, we'll see if Subaru brings heat to the Forester Wilderness and Crosstrek Sport and Limited trims. Stay tuned.
