What is the best adventure vehicle you can buy this summer? It's a battle between two Ford vehicles and a Subaru Wilderness. Auto123 gave awards in 22 categories, and in the running for the best adventure vehicle of the year are the Subaru Outback Wilderness, Ford Bronco Sport, and Ford Maverick. They say the score was close when choosing the best vehicle in this class. Which model is the best all-around vehicle for summer adventures? Auto123 says, "Though here we're not talking about a model like the Jeep Wrangler whose primary mission is head into the wilds (there's a true off-road category reserved for that), but rather more mainstream, everyday transporters that come in a slightly more aggressive form for those who want to explore off-road." Auto123 chose the 2023 Subaru Outback Wilderness over two top Ford rivals as the best pick. They say, "In the case of the Subaru Outback, the Wilderness variant is relatively new to the Subaru model range. It's now available in three models (Forester and Crosstrek being the other two). Wilderness variants come with higher ground clearance, adapted wheels, and gold-themed visual elements that clearly identify the variation." Auto123 says, "With three models offering interesting elements, the vote was close. In the end, it was the Subaru Outback Wilderness that won out over the two American models. The reliability problems experienced by those two Ford vehicles certainly weighed in the balance." Should you wait for the 2024 Outback Wilderness? We recommend customers wait for the 2024 Outback Wilderness, which receives a more rugged look thanks to a new front fascia featuring a redesigned bumper and LED fog lights paired with a more prominent front grille. These exterior upgrades bring the Wilderness trim up to what the 2023 Outback received one year ago. So now the Wilderness trim level looks like the rest of the Outback lineup. Again, it's a great look, but another upgrade is even better. Customers have requested one significant Wilderness improvement from Subaru of America since the Outback was redesigned in 2022. Finally, the Outback Wilderness gets a 360-degree heated steering wheel. It's now standard on the recently-updated 2024 Outback Wilderness. What is the price of the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness? For the 2024 model year, the Outback will be available in nine trim levels. The Base is priced at $30,190, Premium ($32,490), Onyx Edition ($37,400), Limited ($37,090), Touring ($41,640), Onyx Edition XT ($40,655), Wilderness ($41,255), Limited XT ($41,490), and Touring XT ($44,090). In addition, destination and delivery fees are included in the price above ($1,295). How much did the 2024 Outback Wilderness increase in price? All Outback trim level's prices increased by $570 except for the Onyx Edition, which had a $2,680 jump. The Wilderness increased by $1,585, and the Onyx Edition XT price raised $835. Dealer fees increased by $70 per vehicle. For the 2023 models, the Subaru Outback Wilderness is the adventure vehicle of the year, beating the Ford Bronco Sport and Ford Maverick, according to Auto123.
