The 2023 Subaru Outback, Ascent, Legacy, and next-generation 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, are the only models with the latest safety technology. See what's available for customers.
Subaru of America's flagship safety models will be the newly remodeled 2023 Subaru Outback, Ascent, Legacy, and all-new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. A new announcement from Denso, Subaru's supplier that develops its advanced safety technology, says four Subaru models will have an expanded vision sensor camera increasing the sensor's ability to recognize pedestrians and bicycles around the new Outback, Ascent, Legacy, and Crosstrek to improve road safety.
Because many accidents with bicycles and pedestrians occur around an intersection, the new vision sensor will help detect children and bicycles entering the road suddenly from the side and apply the Outback, Ascent, Legacy, and Crosstrek's brakes.
The new safety technology uses Subaru's EyeSight driver assist system that processes the recognized information and first gives an alert to the driver. It applies brakes to avoid collisions with crossing bicycles and pedestrians when necessary. In case of an accident, the system helps to mitigate the damage.
