The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek is Subaru of America's hottest vehicle and is now the fifth most-researched new car. Here's why there won't be any changes for the 2023 model change.

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek is now Subaru's most popular model, and it moved up to the fifth spot of the ten most researched vehicles on Edmunds' top 50 most researched new vehicles during June 2022. The Crosstrek is trending up with compact SUV shoppers and is a vehicle that grabs their attention.

The ten most researched new vehicles

Fuel-efficient small SUVs and crossovers dominate the top five spots, with the 2022 Honda CR-V the number one most popular vehicle. It's followed by the 2002 Toyota RAV4, 2022 Mazda CX-5, 2022 Honda Civic, and 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. Six through ten include the Acura RDX, Hyundai Tucson, Honda Pilot, Honda Passport, and Ford Mustang Mach-E.

What sets the Crosstrek apart?

What sets the 2022 Crosstrek apart from other entry-level compacts is the fuel-efficient Boxer engine combined with its all-wheel-drive technology, which provides dynamic driving performance and its unique safety features. The new-generation EyeSight safety technology is standard equipment on the Crosstrek when equipped with the CVT automatic transmission.

The Subaru Crosstrek also comes with 8.7-inches of ground clearance which no competitor exceeds. Crosstrek also comes with X-Mode on Base and Premium trim levels for all-weather performance and dual function X-Mode on Sport and Limited trims for off-pavement excursions. Subaru says 30 percent of Crosstrek owners take their subcompact SUV off-pavement for weekend adventures.

Edmunds says, "Compact and capable, the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek is an economical way to explore."

What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek?

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek comes in five trim levels for customers. The base trim is priced from $24,320, Premium ($25,470), Sport ($28,670), Limited ($30,170) and Crosstrek Hybrid ($37,520). Prices include destination and delivery fees that increase ($1,175).

What is the 2022 Crosstrek fuel mileage?

According to the latest Consumer Reports study, the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek is included as one of the twelve most fuel-efficient SUVs you can buy now.

You can have an all-wheel-drive SUV and still get good fuel efficiency. The Subaru Crosstrek uses direct injection on its new 2.5-liter four-cylinder Boxer engine and gets 27/34 city/highway mpg and 29 combined mpg.

The 2.0-liter engine gets 28/33 mpg and 30 combined mpg with the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) automatic, contributing to better mileage.

What's coming for the 2023 Crosstrek model change?

Because the Crosstrek is so popular, Subaru doesn't need to upgrade the 2023 Crosstrek subcompact SUV. It's a carryover except for the new 2023 Crosstrek Special Edition trim.

What is the price of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek?

There is no advantage in waiting for the 2023 models. All 2023 Subaru Crosstrek trim levels get a $600 price increase, including destination and delivery fees.

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek now comes in six trim levels for U.S. customers. The base trim is priced from $24,870, Premium, ($26,020), Special Edition ($27,970), Sport ($29,220), Limited ($30,720) and Crosstrek Hybrid ($38.070). Prices include destination and delivery fees ($1,225).

Where do the 2022 Subaru Outback, 2022 Forester, and 2022 Ascent rank?

The Outback and Forester are among the top twenty most researched new vehicles. The 2022 Subaru Outback midsize SUV is the number eighteen most researched new vehicle, and the 2022 Subaru Forester is number nineteen. The Subaru Ascent 3-Row family hauler makes the top fifty most popular new vehicles, with consumers at number forty-three on the Edmunds' list.

Subaru won't change the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek because it's the hottest vehicle in Subaru of America's all-wheel-drive lineup. If it isn't broken, why fix it?
