Mercedes-Benz gets ready to launch the all-new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT this fall. What is that in the cabin?
Mercedes-Benz continues their product offensive and the new GT from Mercedes-AMG is going to be something special. Mercedes just released a teaser image of the all-new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT for us to drool over. The newest creation from Affalterbach will make its global premiere later this fall. The new high-performance sports car should be one of the best ever from AMG. Mercedes-AMG isn’t telling us much, but they released a new image of the interior of the new high-performance sports car. What is that sitting on the console?
This new car will replace the SLS AMG and AMG says the new sports car will create a new segment for the performance brand. Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH says, "The new Mercedes-AMG GT shows that we will be positioning AMG more vehemently and aggressively than to date as a dynamic sports car brand."
Following on the heals of the SLS AMG, the new Mercedes-AMG GT is the second sports car developed fully independently by Mercedes-AMG. An initial exclusive look at the design of the interior shows what is in store for performance fans around the globe. It’s going to be unique and special.
Mercedes-AMG gives us a sneak peak at the new cabin of the AMG GT. The most dynamic aspect of the new cockpit will be the central "aviation design" theme which is typical of Mercedes-Benz sports cars. Mercedes wanted to put the emphasis on the width of the dashboard which creates an impression of a powerful wing.
And you can’t miss the dominant center console that presents a dynamic character “reminiscent of a NACA air intake and the employed materials suggest that it has been adopted directly from motor racing.” But the most clever design from AMG is the unique controls on the AMG drive unit which are arranged like eight cylinders in a V layout. It definitely makes a powerful statement.
If the outside of the new 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT looks as good as the new cabin, this will be a car to get any performance fans pulses racing. The new 2015 AMG GT will be powered by a hand-built AMG V8 that is designed visually right into the cockpit. More details will be coming as Mercedes-AMG launches the new GT this fall.
