Only one of 30 2015 BMW M5 Special 30th “Jahre” Anniversary Edition will be auctioned off this week.
There were only 300 produced worldwide, and only 30 Special Anniversary Edition 2015 BMW M5s were imported to the U.S. market. This is the only unsold example of the most powerful production BMW ever built and it’s going to be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson this week. The U.S. spec model was introduced last May in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the model.
Barrett-Jackson says the high-performance BMW M5 has never been driven with delivery miles only on the clock. This BMW M5 will likely get lots of bids as the most powerful production BMW ever built hits the auction block. The very rare and exclusive 2015 BMW M5 Special 30th “Jahre” (year) Anniversary Edition will be auctioned off this Thursday, January 15 at 5:00pm in Scottsdale, AZ.
The most powerful production BMW ever built
The BMW M5’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces 600 horsepower (441 kW) and a massive 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The additional power of the V8 was obtained by increasing the charge pressure and by installing a revised management system. All that power is transferred to the rear wheels by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox which allows the Special 30th “Jahre” M5 to sprint form 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds. That’s 0.4s faster than the standard production car.

Other special M packages
The performance car has an electronically limited top speed to 155 mph (250 km/h) but an optional M Driver's Package raises the limiter to 190 mph (305 km/h). It also comes with the Competition Package featuring a reprogrammed M Dynamic Mode, a suspension that has been lowered 10mm and stiffer anti-sway bars.
Outside, the special M5 features Dark Frozen Silver paint, black chrome exterior accents and black chrome wheels. Inside, it gets black and grey leather interior with suede accents, "30 Jahre M5" logo designations on grille, door sills, door handles, exhaust, and seats and interior badging plaque indicating special edition one of 300 made.
Barrett-Jackson will action the car this Thursday, January 15 in Scottsdale, AZ with all proceeds benefitting the BMW Car Club of America Foundation. The winning bidder will also participate in an M Driving School program ($5,000 value) to "better prepare him or her for the thrill of properly driving this important high performance vehicle."
