Travis Pastrana, in his new 2016 Subaru WRX STI, will attempt to break David Higgins’ 7 year win streak at Oregon Trail Rally. Can he do it?
Oregon Trail Rally is this weekend and it will be another battle between two 2016 Subaru WRX STIs. It’s round three of the Rally America Championship as SRT USA brings the #75 and #199 2016 Subaru WRX STIs to Oregon. Both will be vying for a win. Pastrana and Edstrom beat Higgins and Drew last month at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in a close battle. The win put an end to David Higgins' 25 month winning streak. Can Pastrana make it two in-a-row and beat Higgins again?
If Pastrana can get another win this weekend in Oregon, it will break David Higgins’ and Craig Drew’s 7 year win streak at Oregon Trail Rally. You can bet Higgins will be at the top of his game. Like he did in Missouri, Pastrana will be pushing his new STI hard again in round three. Both Open Class rally cars have been testing ahead of the event in the woods of western Washington.
Both STIs get a shake down
Subaru Rally Team USA gave both Higgins and Pastrana a day to shake down their 2016 Subaru WRX STIs to make necessary setup changes for the fast roads of northern Oregon. Subaru Motorsports says both teams expressed confidence in their ability to take the top spot on the podium.
It will be a 3-day battle between the #75 and #199 2016 Subaru WRX STIs as David Higgins and Travis Pastrana square off at Oregon Trail Rally. Oregon Trail is the only 3-day rally event in the Championship with stages running through the Mt. Hood farmlands outside the city. Can Pastrana make it two in-a-row and beat Higgins again? Stay tuned.
