The Subaru Legacy is an excellent used car to buy this summer, but there is one state where you'll pay too much. Check out where to avoid purchasing a Legacy sedan.
If you are shopping for a used Subaru Legacy sedan, there is one state where you will pay the most. A recent iSeeCars report says a used Subaru Legacy has the highest used car price increase, has gone up the most over last year, and will cost 38.9 percent more in Nebraska. That's a year-over-year price increase of $7,003.
What makes the Subaru Legacy an excellent used car pick for shoppers? The Legacy is sought after for its standard all-wheel-drive, fuel mileage, reliability, and safety scores.
It's not just the Legacy as used car prices are up 10.9 percent over last year as the microchip shortage continues to impact the automotive industry, according to iSeeCars.com's latest analysis of over 1.8 million used car sales in July. This is slightly up from a 10.5 percent increase in June and marks the second month of slight increases after four months of slowing price growth.
We recently reported that a five-year-old Subaru Legacy sedan is one of shoppers' best used car picks this summer. The 2017 Subaru Legacy is one of the seven top sedans that are five years old. Consumer Reports says it's reliable and fuel-efficient.
What is the price of the 2017 Subaru Legacy?
The 2017 Subaru Legacy price range is from $18,425 to $23,225, depending on the trim level, miles, and condition.
Where can you get the best deal on a used Subaru Legacy? iSeeCars data reveals that the state of Oklahoma has seen the smallest used car price increase this year at just 0.8 percent.
iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer says it's challenging to find a deal on many low-mileage used Subaru models in today's market, but expanding your search radius can provide consumers with the best chance to see more savings.
"Even if you can't travel to the city with the greatest savings on your car, you will probably find greater savings beyond your local area, making the travel worth it," said Brauer.
What is the used Legacy fuel mileage?
The EPA says the 2020-2021 Legacy XT 2.4-liter turbocharged engine returns EPA mileage figures estimated at 24 mpg city/32 mpg highway and 27 combined mpg. The standard naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-4 engine gets an EPA estimated fuel economy of 27/35 mpg city/highway and 30 combined mpg.
If you can't find a used Subaru Legacy in your city, check outside your local area. Legacy shoppers will pay the most in Nebraska.
