You need to drive your Subaru Forester, Outback, and Crosstrek and get it serviced during the COVID-19 crisis. How you can get your car serviced and stay safe.
There are many millions of Americans who need to drive their vehicles to work and are considered “essential” employees like those in health care, grocery stores, and other industries. Many nurses and healthcare professionals drive a Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, or Ascent because of its all-weather, all-wheel-drive capability so they can get to work safely in inclement weather. You still need to get your car serviced at the dealer and most service departments are still open.
A report from Automotive News says, in New Jersey and Michigan, dealerships have been forced to close their showrooms due to stay-at-home orders but can keep their service departments open. There are varying directives for each city and states shelter-in-place, so check with your local government for specifics.
Most dealers in America are keeping their doors open during the coronavirus pandemic, saying they should not be forced to close because they provide an essential service to millions of people who need to get to work. They plan to keep their doors open unless circumstances demand that they close or alter hours.
Dealers are taking steps to make their showrooms and service department waiting rooms as clean as possible, cleaning and disinfecting regularly. Dealers will be asking its customers to practice safe social distancing.
Some service departments do not require an appointment for routine services like oil changes, and you can drive up and get it done while you wait. Others even offer a complimentary shuttle service that will take you home after you’ve dropped off your vehicle so you can wait at your own home or work until services on your Subaru are completed.
Dealers are setting up sanitizing stations throughout their service departments to aid in disinfecting customer vehicles before they are returned to you. Ask your Subaru dealer if they offer door-to-door delivery for their service department customers because many are starting to offer this service for free.
Getting your all-wheel-drive Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, or Ascent serviced regularly is important to keep it running well so you can continue to drive to work, get groceries and other essential errands. Most Subaru dealers are open and will keep you safe during the COVID-19 health crisis.
