Subaru’s new 2018 Impreza compact ranks right along side much more expensive luxury brands like Audi, BMW and Lincoln in its technology. How is Subaru doing it?
The new 2018 Subaru Impreza ranks right along side much more expensive luxury vehicles according to WardsAuto latest “10 Best UX” list. They say the new Impreza compact provides a “great user experience” and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get top quality safety technology.
In the recent WardsAuto 2017 “10 Best User Experiences” competition, Subaru’s Impreza makes their 10 Best list this year. The much less expensive Impreza ($29,260) stands right alongside high-end luxury vehicles like the Audi S5 Sportback ($68,350), BMW 540i ($82,360), and Lincoln Continental ($79,780) in providing a great user experience.
“The Wards 10 Best UX competition is meant to identify technologies that are smart, safe and connected,” says Drew Winter, senior content director at WardsAuto. In addition to the three other luxury brands, they found Impreza ranked 10-Best right along with six other more expensive vehicles like the Mazda CX-5 ($34,380), Honda Odyssey ($47,610), Buick Enclave Avenir ($59,435), Dodge Durango SRT ($74,950), Ford F-150 Raptor ($65,715) and Volkswagen Atlas ($49,415).
WardsAuto attributes the Impreza’s success to its EyeSight driver assist safety system and other advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) technologies onboard the compact sedan and 5-door hatch models. Impreza’s ADAS systems help the driver in the driving process. When designed with a safe human-machine interface, they increase car safety and more generally road safety.
What is your favorite car feature?
In another recent study, swapalease.com, released the results of their annual NFL & Cars Survey, where thousands of drivers across the country made predictions about their favorite NFL teams. They also asked more than 2,500 drivers across the country during August, 2017, What is your favorite car feature?
In the survey, women say Blind spot monitoring, Large LCD touch display, Collision Avoidance, and Lane Departure Warning are their favorite features, while men said, Voice Command, Auto Parallel Park, Large LCD touch display, and Driverless cars are theirs. Many Impreza compacts are being purchased by young millennial females, and its safety features could be part of the reason why the new compact car is reaching historic sales numbers this year.
One of Subaru’s core values is safety, and the new Impreza comes with safety technologies like the new-generation Subaru EyeSight driver-assist system. The advanced system uses Subaru-developed stereo camera technology that was rated highest in front crash prevention system by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Subaru’s 2018 Impreza is keeping pace with much more expensive luxury brands like Audi, BMW and Lincoln in giving owners a “great user experience.”
