Subaru’s two safety features are keeping business and personal consumers safer and saving them time and money. Check out these interesting trends.
Subaru is on a safety-first journey. It goes beyond ABS and airbags. Their EyeSight driver assist system and now the new Vision Assist features are the two safety features making them the safest cars on the planet. It’s working because EyeSight has been proven to keep consumers safe on the road. Recent trends show it’s also saving fleet operations money on insurance premiums and employee and vehicle down-time.
Subaru vehicles like the 2016 Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, WRX/STI, Legacy and Impreza can be ordered with Subaru’s award-winning EyeSight driver assist system. In Australia, the Liberty sedan (Subaru Legacy in the U.S.) is the first mainstream range of any brand to offer technology like EyeSight in every variant. Down under, they are seeing the safety system boost consumer confidence and it’s also reflected in insurance premiums.
Interesting trends seen with EyeSight
Subaru’s EyeSight has been around since 2008 and statistics are showing some interesting trends. Nick Senior, Subaru Australia Managing Director, says in a recent communication from an Adelaide-based fleet that operates 565 vehicles, they have seen a significant difference with the 51 EyeSight-equipped Subarus in their fleet. The fleet operations reports they recorded 358 incidents with vehicle damage since January 1, 2014. Those included 68 with damage to the front bumper, 19 forward collision driving accidents with another vehicle, and 26 including wildlife strikes. The Subarus with EyeSight only had one incident.
Subaru EyeSight makes a big difference
Of all the incidents and accidents, only one involved a Subaru EyeSight vehicle, with front bumper damage. The fleet customer told Senior, that it occurred when the vehicle turned a corner and collided with a car that would not have been picked up by EyeSight. In the feedback that Subaru is getting, EyeSight is helping fleet clients save money due to reduced vehicle and employee time-off road due to accidents. It’s also helping them in reduced insurance premiums.
Subaru Forester with EyeSight is the best safety value
EyeSight is proving to be very cost effective in fleet operations and it’s the least expensive safety system for consumers based on safety ratings. All Subaru vehicles equipped with EyeSight have achieved the highest Top Safety Pick Plus rating with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). According to a recent study done by BestRide, they found the 2016 Subaru Forester 2.5i Premium with EyeSight beats all other small SUVs in safety value for the money. They say, “It’s the least expensive, mainstream family crossover with Forward Collision Prevention (FCP) with the IIHS TSP+ rating.”
Subaru has said they want to be the safety leader and they are backing up that bold statement by developing a safety system that works, and it’s cost-effective for consumers. It’s more than just hype from the Japanese automaker. Senior says, “There is clear proof that EyeSight is worth every cent and also benefits employee safety.”
Added safety with new Vision Assist
Subaru now offers the new Vision Assist systems on their vehicles. The features include Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Change Assist, Auto dimming rear view mirror, High Beam Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert that detects passing vehicles when reversing from parking spaces. It’s Subaru’s next step in making the 2016 Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, Legacy, WRX and Impreza safer yet. Recent trends show Subaru’s EyeSight and Vision Assist are saving businesses and consumers both time and money.
