Mercedes-Benz UK has announced the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG Sport Edition. Do they need to move out the old C before the new 2015 C-Class arrives?
Mercedes-Benz must need to move out the 2014 C-Class before the new generation 2015 models arrive. The all new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class has just made its global debut, but Mercedes isn’t done selling the 2014 model quite yet. Mercedes-Benz UK has announced the 2014 Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG Sport Edition.
The “new” AMG Sport Edition sounds like a repackage job for the old C-Class AMG Sport and AMG Sport Plus models. Mercedes says the it will receive a range of AMG enhancements including a new model line, new option packages and pricing. It will be featured across the lineup in 2014 C-Class Sedan, Estate and Coupe variants.
Mercedes has created such excitement for the new 2015 C-Class, that they must have buyers waiting for the new model and existing 2014 models are just sitting around going unsold. But it gives UK buyers a good opportunity. UK buyers can get a good deal on the new C-Class AMG Sport Edition. When the AMG Sport Edition is fitted with the optional 18-inch seven-spoke AMG alloy wheels, it represents a 50 percent saving over the outgoing AMG Sport Plus model, which was priced at 3,000 British Pounds over the Executive SE model line.
There are two optional packages for the new AMG Sport Edition. Premium Package (1,595), includes COMAND Online with Media Interface, reversing camera, heated front seats, Lighting Package and DAB digital radio. Premium Plus Package (2,495), offers up to a 45 percent saving on individual options and features the same content as the Premium pack, with the added benefit of a panoramic glass sunroof.
On the outside, the AMG Sport Edition also gets a new AMG rear deck spoiler (Saloon and Coupe), dark-tinted headlamps and high-gloss black grille to set it apart even more. Inside, the new trim line gets AMG Sport Plus seats upholstered in black Artico and Dinamica with blue/grey contrast stitching and split folding rear seats in the Saloon. The gear shift gaiter now has grey contrast stitching, as does the Dinamica-covered door panel trim.
The “new” 2014 AMG Sport Edition is available on C 220 CDI and C 250 CDI engines from 30,170 British Pounds for Saloon, 31,370 for Estate and 32,455 for Coupe. It looks like a good marketing job from Mercedes to move out the old C before the all-new 2015 C-Class arrives in the UK.
