Subaru introduces the new 2015 Impreza four-door and five door compact models and they get a new look, refinements and technology. The new 2015 Impreza compact will be available with one new technology that will make it the safest compact on the planet. Subaru has always been committed to safety since the 60s, and Impreza is the latest car in their lineup to get the new-generation EyeSight safety system.
What makes Impreza safe?
The brand’s innovative, award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology includes new technology like Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking and Vehicle Lane Departure Warning. These systems are already available on the new 2015 Legacy sedan, Outback crossover and Forester SUV. The optional EyeSight system will now be available on 2.0i Limited 4-door and 2.0i Sport Limited Imprezas.
New steering responsive fog lights
Impreza models equipped with EyeSight also come with new Steering-Responsive Fog Lights. This feature, works when the fog lights are turned off, and it activates the left or right fog light independently, depending on vehicle speed and steering angle. It provides enhanced illumination in the direction of the turn. The fog lights are pre-aimed for maximum coverage in corners. This will be ideal for driving on dark country or mountain roads and in the corners where extra illumination is needed.
New Rear Vision Camera
For 2015, Subaru Impreza gets a 6.2-inch multi-function touch screen display with single-touch gesture control. The display functions for the newly standard Rear Vision Camera. This new feature will make it easier for the driver when backing out of tight parking areas and seeing blind spots. The new standard 6.2-inch display also controls the infotainment system in the Impreza 2.0i and now provides a multitude of music and information sources.
Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive
Subaru is known for its AWD systems and 2015 Impreza comes standard with the same Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive systems that have set the brand apart. Subaru offers two different versions on Impreza, each tailored to the type of transmission. 5-speed manual models get the Continuous AWD system that uses a viscous-coupling locking center differential to distribute torque a nominal 50:50 front to rear. Slippage at either the front or rear wheels will cause the system to send more torque to the opposite wheels.
Impreza models equipped with the Lineartronic CVT use Active Torque Split AWD. An electronically managed continuously variable transfer clutch actively controls power distribution in response to driver input, driving conditions and wheel slippage. Impreza is an ideal car for cold weather climates, but with AWD, it also helps the compact car get maximum traction on dry roads.
Standard Subaru Safety
Subaru uses what they call the Ring-shaped Reinforcement Frame body structure for exemplary collision protection. This structure has helped them earn the IIHS top safety pick for every vehicle in their lineup. Impreza also comes standard with 4-wheel disc Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and the Brake Assist safety system. The Brake Override system ensures that the engine power will be cut when both the brake and accelerator are pressed simultaneously. Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) combines stability and traction control functions.
The 2015 Impreza compact four and five-door models also come standard with a driver’s knee airbag, front side pelvis/torso airbags and side curtain airbags that offer front and rear outboard seat coverage. The passenger-seat front airbag features a shell-type design with a center groove, thus exposing the passenger to less impact force upon deployment.

Seriously, though - with the changing of the electronics in the Imprezza, I suspect that the XV will also get some changes for 2015 as well. The question now is when will the new models be released. Subaru has completely gone against the conventional release time of fall for new models - I doubt this will be any different.
