KBB says Subaru vehicles are the lowest cost to own of any automaker in America, and the 2020 Forester is the best compact SUV. See what it means for SUV shoppers.
Consumers looking for vehicles that are the lowest cost to own and offer superior fuel efficiency should check out the Subaru all-wheel-drive lineup, but especially the 2020 Forester compact SUV. According to the newest Kelley Blue Book’s 2020 5-Year Cost to Own Awards, the “Best Brand” is Subaru, which has the lowest projected ownership costs, and the newly-redesigned 2020 Forester scores the “Best Compact SUV.”
The Subaru brand beats all other automakers
Based on Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own data for new cars for the initial five-year ownership period, Subaru’s overall vehicle lineup incurred less depreciation than any other automaker and offers shoppers superior fuel efficiency. This award is not new for Subaru, as the Japanese automaker has scored the distinction the fourth time since the brand was first recognized in 2015 and receives the top honor for the second year in a row.
What does it mean for customers?
The 2020 Forester holds its value better than all other Subaru vehicles in the lineup and is the lowest cost-to-own vehicle in the popular Compact SUV category. KBB adds up all costs associated with a car for a five year period to come up with the winners. Costs such as fuel, maintenance, repairs, financing, insurance and one of the biggest factors of all, depreciation, are all factors that affect a vehicle’s total ownership costs.
KBB says,” The Forester is ideal for active individuals and families who need a smaller crossover that will diligently and efficiently serve their daily needs of commuting, yet is raring to take them where time clocks don’t exist. It’s just part of the Forester’s DNA.”
Also, in Vencentric’s recent 2020 Lowest Cost to Own in America awards, Subaru scores the best overall mainstream brand award, awarding the Japanese automaker as the top pick for car shoppers looking for a new vehicle with the lowest ownership costs of any automaker in America. The 2020 Subaru Impreza scored Best Compact, Best Compact Hatchback, and Subaru Legacy wins the Best Mid-Size Car award.
It’s good news for shoppers looking for fuel-efficient all-wheel-drive vehicles they plan on keeping five or more years. These two cost-to-own awards tell consumers, your cost to own a new 2020 Outback, Crosstrek, Ascent, Impreza or Legacy will be less than vehicles from other automakers with the 2020 Subaru Forester the lowest.
