Subaru of America is celebrating its 11 millionth sales in the U.S. See who bought the 2021 Subaru Outback.
Subaru of America (SOA) just hit a huge milestone. They just sold its 11 millionth vehicle in the U.S., a 2021 Subaru Outback wagon/SUV. Subaru USA says, “We are proud to announce that we have sold our 11 millionth vehicle, a Subaru Outback, to a customer at Douglass Subaru. Thank you to our loyal Subaru family for helping us achieve this milestone!”
In 1983, SOA celebrated its 15th anniversary and sold its one-millionth Subaru in the U.S. market. Subaru sold its three millionth Subaru vehicle in the U.S. (3-16-98). In 2012 Subaru sold its 6th millionth vehicle, and in 2019, SOA sold its ten millionth vehicle.
Of those 11 million models sold, 2.5 million of them are Outback wagons. Torque News recently reported SOA delivered its 2.5 millionth Outback to a customer last month. The 11 millionth vehicle sold this week was not purchased by a loyal customer but a first-time Subaru owner. Subaru is attracting new buyers at a 60 percent clip.
Subaru of America is the Japanese automaker’s largest market selling approximately 66 percent of the vehicles worldwide. The new owner’s Outback is built at the plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Subaru Corporation prioritizes SOA, and the Camden, N.J. automaker gets models the rest of the globe can only look at and not touch.
The Outback received a complete remodel for the 2020 model with new upgrades inside and out. The most significant addition was the new Outback XT trims with the 2.4-liter turbocharged engine. It’s only sold in North America.
Subaru of America just introduced the all-new rugged 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness trim. It’s built for outdoor enthusiasts, and it’s also only sold in North America. The new lifted wagon is off-pavement-ready and designed for those with active lifestyles. It arrives this summer.
What is the price of the 2021 Subaru Outback?
The 2021 Outback comes in seven trim levels, base $27,845, Premium ($30,095), Limited ($34,645), Onyx Edition XT ($36,195), Limited XT ($38,545), Touring ($39,045), and Touring XT ($40,995). Pricing includes $1,050 destination.
The 2021 Subaru Outback helps Subaru of America hit a new milestone with 11 million total vehicle sales in the U.S. this week. Subaru sold the record-breaking Outback to a first-time Subaru owner at Douglass Subaru in Waco, Texas.
