If you aren’t particularly fond of red, Subaru announced a new Black Special Edition 2017 Subaru Crosstrek. It totally flew under the radar.
When Subaru announced the Special Edition Pure Red model at the Chicago Auto Show earlier this year, they didn’t mention another trim with a different exterior color would also be available. It’s a good thing they offer black, because not many people like red. If you’re one of those that doesn't like the all-red Crosstrek, you’re in luck because the Special Edition 2017 Subaru Crosstrek now comes in Crystal Black Silica. Subaru snuck this special edition in when they officially announced 2017 Crosstrek pricing and no-one caught it.
What else does the Crystal Black Silica SE Crosstrek get?
The new Premium Special Edition adds additional equipment and styling to the standard Premium. The Crystal Black Silica exterior comes with black badging to set it apart. It also wears 5-spoke, dark gray aluminum-alloy 17” wheels. Additionally, it features matching black foldable mirrors with integrated turn signals.
Inside, both special edition 2017 Subaru Crosstrek crossovers get even more red accents with red stitching accents on the leather-wrapped shift lever handle, steering wheel and door panels. Other features unique to this model includes red and piano black dash trim. Also, red interior ambient lighting creating a soft red glow onto the front floor area and storage space below the climate control greets you upon entering the cabin. It also comes with sporty aluminum pedals (that aren’t painted red).
Other standard features
Other standard goodies on the limited edition model include heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors and windshield wiper de-icer, power moonroof, instrument panel with color LCD, keyless access with push-button start, and Blind Spot Detection / Rear Cross Traffic Alert System (which includes Lane Change Assist). It also comes with the Subaru STARLING 6.2” multimedia system.
Both the Pure Red and Crystal Black Silica Special Edition 2017 Subaru Crosstrek models are priced at $25,795 not including destination ($850). Even though it flew under the radar, it’s available in the U.S. now.
