Is the recently-remodeled BRZ sports car the forgotten model? Unfortunately, the 2023 Subaru BRZ is now in last place in the lineup. Check out the BRZ report here.
Where does the BRZ sit in Subaru of America's (SOA) sales volume? The redesigned 2023 Subaru BRZ is the last-placed model in SOA's lineup and appears forgotten. The all-new Solterra EV is ahead of the BRZ in sales, and the sports coupe is in last place in March. The Solterra delivered 513 electric SUV models to customers in March compared with 285 BRZ sports cars.
The 2023 Subaru BRZ dropped 2.1 percent compared with March 2022, when it sold 291 models to driving enthusiasts. However, the BRZ is up 1.4 percent through the first three months of 2023, with 985 models sold. The Solterra has 1,359 models sold in the first quarter of 2023.
Don't worry; Subaru won't drop the sports coupe from the lineup. We expect BRZ sales to pick up new with warmer weather coming. The rear-drive BRZ is designed for dry roads with sharp curves. That's where it thrives. The BRZ is still among the best sports car values even though it pulls up in last place for Subaru of America.
Subaru won't drop the BRZ because it's the most loved model in the entire lineup.
According to owner surveys from Consumer Reports, the most loved Subaru of any model in its lineup is the last-place 2023 Subaru BRZ sports coupe.
Consumer Reports says its latest most loved models are measured by the answer to this crucial question: "Given the opportunity, would you buy or lease this vehicle again?" This year they received responses from owners of more than 300,000 cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans.
Customers who own the Subaru BRZ said if they had it to do all over again (considering the price, performance, reliability, comfort, enjoyment, etc.), they would buy or lease the sports coupe again. The BRZ has the highest ratings and scores of any Subaru model based on the percentage of owners who said they were "very satisfied" with their vehicle.
What is the price of the 2023 BRZ?
You don't have to spend $50,000 or $60,000 to get a great sports car. The 2023 Subaru BRZ comes in two trim levels with two transmission options. The BRZ Premium with a 6-speed manual gearbox has a starting price of $29,615. BRZ Premium with an automatic transmission starts at $33,115. The Limited (6-speed manual) has a starting MSRP of $32,115. The Limited with an automatic transmission starts at $33,255.
The BRZ is the most satisfying model in Subaru's lineup for some critical reasons. First, the BRZ hits the sweet spot. It's also affordable, fuel-efficient, and fun to drive. The BRZ is in last place in sales performance, but it's first in value and the most loved by owners.
Don't worry, BRZ fans. SOA won't drop the slow-selling sports car. Instead, check out why a turbocharged BRZ could be coming next in the report below. Would you buy a new BRZ with a smaller turbo engine or stick with the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated Boxer engine?
