Nissan has just unveiled a new 2017 GT-R European-Only Track-Edition. What sets it apart?
A new 2017 Nissan GT-R Track Edition for the European market will give performance enthusiasts even more to get excited about. It’s engineered by motorsports partner NISMO and includes extra enhancements like bespoke Bilstein suspension and revised interior. The 2017 GT-R European-Only Track-Edition will start at 118,900 Euros ($133,726 USD).
Why build a new Track Edition?
Isn't the Nissan GT-R already a track monster? Like the name suggests, it was developed by Nissan’s motorsport division for track enthusiasts. It’s designed to deliver a higher level of performance than the standard GT-R for a new on-track experience. The new Track Edition will sit above the Premium, Prestige and Black Edition trims, but well below the flagship GT-R NISMO.
What sets it apart?
Nissan Europe says performance upgrades include a bespoke race-tuned set-up Bilstein Damptronic suspension. It’s designed to optimize straight-line and cornering stability. Body stiffness has been increased, a new lightweight anti-roll bar added and weight has been reduced on the supercar.
Outside, it gets special NISMO “Racing Black” forged 20-inch aluminum wheels. It also features a wider front bumper. Other specs varying by market. In Germany, Track Editions come with carbon-backed Recaro seats as standard, with a carbon rear spoiler available as an option.
In the UK and France, the black and red Recaro seats from the GT-R Black Edition are fitted, while the carbon spoiler is standard. A boot lid made from carbon and the carbon-backed seats are optional extras.
The hotter 2017 Nissan GT-R European-spec Track Edition models will be available for track-enthusiasts in November in all European markets.
