A recent iSeeCars report says a used Subaru Impreza has the highest used car price increase, has gone up the most over last year, and will cost 9.8 percent more in Maine. That's a year-over-year price increase of $2,035.

What makes the Subaru Impreza an excellent used car pick for shoppers? The Impreza compact is sought after for its standard all-wheel-drive system, fuel mileage, reliability, and safety scores.

It's not just the Impreza as used car prices are up 3.0 percent over last year as the microchip shortage continues to impact the automotive industry; according to iSeeCars.com's latest analysis of over 1.9 million used car sales, used car prices decreased 3.0 percent in December 2022 compared to the previous year. But not the hot Impreza.

iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer says it's challenging to find a deal on many low-mileage used Subaru models in today's market, but expanding your search radius can provide consumers with the best chance to see more savings.

"Even if you can't travel to the city with the greatest savings on your car, you will probably find greater savings beyond your local area, making the travel worth it," said Brauer.
