Subaru announced the 2019 Outback and Legacy get standard EyeSight on all models. See why consumers win.
The 2019 Subaru Outback doesn’t get a lot of upgrades, but one new standard feature will benefit consumers in a big way. Subaru has a goal of being the overall safety leader and they make another step closer to getting there. Subaru announced the 2019 Outback wagon and 2019 Legacy sedan will now come standard with EyeSight on all models. It will benefit consumers by offering these two popular models with the highest IIHS safety ratings.
Subaru is the only automaker in the world with the distinction of earning IIHS Top Safety Pick awards for every model it builds and has done so seven consecutive years. When equipped with the EyeSight driver assist safety system, the brand gets the highest Top Safety Pick Plus safety ratings.
Subaru has been committed to safety and has developed its highly-rated collision safety and "EyeSight" driving assist system that is rated number one in the industry. Subaru’s goal is to “become a #1 brand for overall safety with "All-Around Safety" protecting all passengers and pedestrians.”
EyeSight could be an auto-industry game changer
A recent article from Business Insider says Subaru’s new EyeSight safety system will be an auto-industry game changer. They say this is due to the system moving from keeping occupants safe, to crash avoidance. Business Insider said, “That's big, and here's why: If enough automakers succeed at designing cars that can successfully, and autonomously, avoid a collision, accident rates will fall, and eventually so will insurance premiums.”
Subaru touts how they want to be the global leader in overall safety, and they’ve been developing their EyeSight driver assist safety system since 1999 to move in that direction. Subaru Corporation uses stereo cameras located at the top of the windshield to detect vehicles and pedestrians in the car's path and has been proven to reduce the impact of a collision and can prevent an accident altogether.
Subaru’s Active Driver Assist (ADA) continues to be developed in the new-generation EyeSight found in the Outback and Legacy. The system will now be standard on all 2019 Subaru Outback and Legacy models and consumers win.
