Subaru announces pricing and improved fuel mileage on the new 2017 Impreza. And it is coming with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Subaru announces pricing, improved fuel mileage and a 5-speed manual transmission will be coming later on the new 2017 Impreza. Pricing on the newly-remodeled Impreza sedan begins just $100 over the previous model year at $18,395 (not including destination). Subaru of America also announced a one mpg increase in fuel mileage for the CVT automatic models.
Four trims and a manual gearbox is coming later
The all-new 2017 Impreza will be offered in four trim levels: 2.0i, 2.0i Premium, 2.0i Sport and 2.0i Limited. Subaru will begin producing the new Imprezas first with the Lineartronic Continuously Variable Transmission and they will arrive late 2016 in the US. Subaru originally didn’t announce the Impreza would get a manual rower for 2017 in US models. But today announced they will offer the 5-speed manual gearbox. Those models will be available in early 2017.
The Premium trim starts at $21,195 and adds Subaru Starlink Safety and Security features, 16-inch alloy wheels, the All-Weather Package featuring heated front seats, windshield wiper de-icer, and heated exterior mirrors as well as automatic headlights. Premium 5-door Imprezas also feature standard roof rails (not available on 2.0i or 5-door Impreza 2.0i Sport). Stepping up to the Premium trim also brings wider option availability, including a power moonroof and driver assist technology systems.
A new Impreza Sport
A new Impreza 2.0i Sport ($21,995) will now be offered in sedan and 5-door body styles and it should deliver a more dynamic driving experience. This will be thanks to upgraded suspension tuning, 18-inch machine-finish alloy wheels and Active Torque Vectoring.
Limited gets a new level of luxury
Subaru has elevated the Limited trim ($24,095) for the 2017 Impreza into “more luxurious territory.” On the outside, it gets, LED headlights and distinctive “Konoji” LED daytime running lights and standard 17-inch machine finished alloy wheels. Extra exterior chrome trim and turn signal side mirrors sets it apart from the other trims.
Fuel mileage is up
Subaru also announced fuel mileage estimates for the 2017 Impreza. The new compact now offers up to 38 mpg highway on CVT models. This is a one mpg increase over the previous year Impreza. Fuel mileage estimates will be available on the manual transmission models in early 2017.
