Subaru scores big with new Outback ad by getting you to day-dream about adventure. What are you day-dreaming about?
Subaru’s ad agency, Carmichael Lynch, seems to be able to connect with anyone. Doesn’t everyone dream of getting away from it all? That’s what Subaru’s new 2018 Outback wagon ad gets you to do. It only takes 30 seconds to get you thinking about what your dream is. What are you dreaming about? It’s not going to work and paying the bills, it’s getting away from it all right? Subaru promises this with their new Outback wagon. It’s brilliant.
Subaru of America’s new TV ad for the new 2018 Outback wagon has been a big hit. According to Wards Auto, the TV spot is number one in the “most-watched” rankings. What’s amazing is, the ad has a 83.45 percent attention score, which means when it comes on, viewers are watching it. The Subaru spot beats Hyundai, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi and Toyota ads for the top ranking.
It’s also amazing, that Subaru of American has turned a family wagon, into the top-selling vehicle in their all-wheel-drive lineup. The Subaru Outback is a family hauler, but it also has Subaru’s signature “go-anywhere” attitude. They have learned how to appeal to young urban millennials who are starting a family, they have a dog, they are adventurous and have active lifestyles.
The music in the spot features music by Langhorne Slim appeals to all three. The lyrics, “Everyone has got a dream, you know what I mean.” has this young woman sitting with her dog dreaming of a great adventure. It sure beats watching some crazy car dealer screaming about how great a deal he’s going to make you on a new 2018 Subaru Outback.
