Subaru will launch the new 2017 Impreza sedan and 5-Door with new safety systems. Here’s 3 to look for when it hits US showrooms.
When the new 2017 Subaru Impreza launches in the US later this year, look for three new safety systems on the sedan and 5-Door compacts. Subaru revealed these systems when it launched the new models on September 1 in Japan. Subaru is all about safety and the 2017 Impreza gets safer. Here’s what to look for.
Steering Responsive Headlights
Steering Responsive Headlights are being added to Impreza which aims the headlights around curves for improved illumination at night. It also work in intersections allowing the headlight to move to the left and right of the head lamp optical axis in accordance with the steering operation. This is the same system used on Forester and Outback.
High Beam Assist
Another new safety feature the all-new Impreza compacts will include, will be new High Beam Assist that automatically switches the headlights between the high and low settings depending on driving conditions. It uses a stereo camera to detect oncoming lights switching the high beam and low beam automatically. This will also improve safety at night.
Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection
For 2017, Impreza now comes with the new Subaru Rear Vehicle Detection System. The safety system offers three functions: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. All three keep the driver and occupants safer by detecting vehicles approaching the Impreza.
