Every automaker adds destination charges to a new vehicle's sticker price, but which car brands have the highest costs? We checked the top 10 midsize SUVs to find out. A recent Consumer Reports study found Stellantis, the company formerly known as Fiat Chrysler, has the highest fees of any brand in America.
The new CR report says that destination fees are on the rise, and the increase is how automakers make extra profit. Torque News looked at the fastest-growing midsize SUV class and checked the top 10 models. We found the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the highest in its class. Where does the 2022 Subaru Outback rank?
Subaru just raised the 2022 Subaru Outback to $1,125, up to $75 for the new model change. Before Subaru increased the designation and delivery fees, the 2021 Outback was the lowest of the top-selling midsize SUVs. While $75 is not a lot pre vehicle, the extra profit for the Japanese automaker can mean over 11 million in revenue from the Outback lineup alone.

Even with the 2022 Subaru Outback increase, other automakers have raised their destination and delivery fees as much as 90 percent (Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep) for 2021 models; Subaru has kept its costs one of the lowest of any car brand.
What is the price of the 2022 Subaru Outback?
The 2022 Outback comes in eight trim levels; the base trim is priced from $27,845 (+$225), Premium ($30,270 +$175), Limited ($34,720 +$75), Touring ($38,620 +$75), Onyx Edition XT ($36,270 +$75), new for 2022, Outback Wilderness ($38,120), Limited XT ($39,120 +$75), and Touring XT ($41,070 +$75). Pricing includes $1,125 destination and increase of $75 over the previous year.
