Subaru has released an all-new 2013 Impreza WRX and WRX STI interactive online brochure to give fans a sneak peek at the high-performance Impreza.
Fans can check out the 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI before its official release. The newly released dynamic online brochure offers 23 pages of interactive tools where fans can zoom in, bookmark pages or print all or select pages. Subaru says that the 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX and WRX STI “are almost here.” Subaru launched a similar brochure for the all-new 2013 XV Crosstrek that we reported here. Both offer cool pics, interactive content, and videos!
For the 2013 model year, it looks like the Subaru WRX STI will get the same 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 305 horsepower and 290 lb ft of torque. That shouldn't be a problem, because of its power-to-weight ratio, the STI quarter-mile acceleration times match those delivered by some muscle and exotic sports cars. Subaru says the 2013 boxer engine will get a higher boost turbocharger and larger intercooler for increased performance for 2013. It comes with the highly-capable Subaru Symmetrical AWD system with Driver Controlled Center Differential.
The 2013 WRX STI 2.5-liter horizontally apposed powerplant is mated to just one transmission, a six-speed manual with coated synchromesh gears. The WRX STI boxer engine also gets dual active valve control that utilizes two camshafts, one for the intake and one for exhaust. The design allows the performance engine maximum flow in and out. It also gets Brembo high-performance ventilated front and rear brakes, and a performance-tuned four-wheel independent suspension. Subaru says the performance STI model gets 17/23 city/highway estimated fuel mileage.
STI stands for Subaru Technical International, the high-performance division of Subaru that made the WRX famous through considerable success in the World Rally Championship. All the systems in the STI have been upgraded for maximum performance and driver involvement. It also gets unique interior appointments and a high-tech, manually adjustable all-wheel-drive system.
The 2013 Impreza WRX STI comes in a four-door sedan, four-door Limited and a five-door model. The WRX STI starts at $34,295 with the STI Limited $37,645. That’s a $200 increase over last years model. A number of factory high-performance options can be ordered on the 2013 WRX STI, all of which are covered under the factory warrantee. Buyers can get a SPT performance exhaust system, turbo heat shield, turbo boost gauge, short-throw shifter and an SPT carbon fiber trunk trim.
Subaru has not announced when the 2013 Impreza WRX and WRX STI will be in U.S. showrooms, but fans can check out the new interactive brochure and get all the details ahead of the official launch. Go to http://subar.us/SjfnBC
