Parents magazine and Edmunds revealed their annual 10 Best Family Cars list for 2015. What impressed them most about the new 2015 Subaru Outback?
The 2015 Subaru Outback was chosen as one of the 10 Best Family Cars of 2015 by Parents magazine and Edmunds.com again. Outback is a repeat winner in the Wagon category not only because of its redesign with a roomier more comfortable interior and higher fuel efficiency, but because of its safety systems that makes it a safer vehicle for families.
This year, Parents and Edmunds.com experts were impressed by the proactive safety systems now standard in many of the vehicles that made their 10 Best Family Cars list. Outback excels in safety
The 2015 Subaru Outback continues in the tradition of Subaru’s commitment to building safe vehicles. The fifth-generation Outback comes with a new Rear Vehicle Detection System featuring 3 new safety features: Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. It can also be ordered with their new version of EyeSight driver assistance system with improved camera performance.
The new 2015 Outback will be even safer than the outgoing model due to getting new front seat-cushion airbags that help to keep occupants in place in a frontal collision. All trim lines come standard with a rear-view camera, and a new rollover sensor can deploy the side curtain airbags if an imminent rollover is detected.
Safety is a big concern for families
Parents magazine and Edmunds say families are most concerned about safety in their new vehicle. Available safety features on the 2015 Outback include adaptive cruise control, collision-mitigation system and a lane-departure warning system. An IIHS top safety pick, the Outback is packed with safety technology, including a forward collision system that can detect and brake for pedestrians.

Sedans-Hyundai Sonata ($21,960) and Honda Accord ($22,925). Wagon-Subaru Outback ($25,745). Crossovers-Honda CR-V ($24,325) and Nissan Murano ($30,445). Minivan-Toyota Sienna ($29,485) and SUV-Chevrolet Traverse ($31,870).
