Subaru Runs Out Of The BRZ - When You Will See The Next-Generation Model

Subaru stopped production last year and is just now running out of the first-generation BRZ sports coupe. See when customers can buy the all-new 2022 BRZ.

Subaru may have sold the last nineteen 2020 BRZ sports coupes. Subaru of America reported nineteen BRZ sales in May, and the first-generation models could be gone forever. It’s going to be a long wait as customers won’t see the next-generation 2022 BRZ until this fall before they arrive at Subaru showrooms.

Subaru Corporation stopped producing the 2020 BRZ in July 2020, as they didn’t make a 2021 model year. Subaru said BRZ orders would end on July 20, 2020. Subaru builds the BRZ and Toyota GR86 at the Subaru plant in Gunma, Japan.

Subaru announced the second-generation 2022 BRZ in November as the sports coupe made its global debut at the Thermal Club Raceway in Thermal, California. The second-generation BRZ won’t be ready for summer as model production was pushed back because of plant closure in Gunma, Japan, where the BRZ and Toyota GR86 are manufactured.

Customers will have to wait until fall to get their hands on the 2022 BRZ, and there won’t be many sales in cold-weather states. Subaru is gaining market share in warm-weather states like California, Texas, and Florida, where BRZ should sell well.

Subaru says the new BRZ will be an excellent daily driver in cold-weather states. In April, Subaru published a video showing the next-generation 2022 BRZ on a snow-packed road in Japan. The YouTube video said, “You can run the 2022 BRZ with confidence on snowy roads!”

The 2022 BRZ comes standard with a Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) traction and stability system offering the driver five different settings. The system has been redesigned to allow more input from the driver before it activates the traction system. The system can be entirely turned off for more driver control.

What is the price of the 2022 Subaru BRZ?

Subaru has not released pricing on the new BRZ. Production of the second-generation 2022 Subaru BRZ started this spring at Subaru’s Gunma, Japan assembly plant. The BRZ will go on sale early fall of 2021. Torque News will bring pricing information when it’s announced. Check out the snow video below.
