Subaru has an aggressive plan to build more cars in 2020. See how shoppers will benefit from lower car prices on 2020 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent models now.
If you waited to buy a new 2020 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, or Ascent vehicle, you could benefit from lower prices on that new all-wheel-drive vehicle now. Subaru recently announced they will increase its global production to a record 1.10 million vehicles in 2020. This is an increase of 11 percent for both the factory in Japan and also its U.S. factory in Lafayette, Indiana. This will benefit shoppers in a big way.
Last year, production volumes in Japan were slowed for 11 months through September 2019 to ensure product quality in an effort to restore its brand image in Japan, which was tarnished by a series of quality-control issues. Production at the plant in Indiana was also slowed to ensure the quality of the all-new 2020 Outback wagon.
Now that Subaru of America will be getting more 2020 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent models, the added inventory will drive prices down for customers. We received an email from John Goreham, a senior Torque News staff writer, saying he received a text message from Patriot Subaru on his phone this week.
Since they know he owns an older Forester, the Subaru dealer was letting him know about “Our HUGE Forester sale that we have going on now through the 31st. We are taking up to 15 percent off on our brand new 2020 Foresters! This is the biggest discount we have ever run.”
Typically Subaru does not offer deep discounts like this to customers because Subaru’s inventory has been the lowest of any automaker. They purposely keep levels low to keep its resale values high. We reached out to Patriot Subaru where John received the text asking if 15 percent discount is off MSRP or the already discounted price. We have not heard back yet.
Things are changing for Subaru in 2020. Subaru Corporation is ramping up production and there is now a good supply of new 2020 Subaru Forester, Outback, Crosstrek, and Ascent models, It may be the best time for car shoppers to get a good deal and discounted price on a new Subaru.
