After six months of 2023, Subaru of America is looking good. The Camden, N.J. automaker has another impressive increase. It's now eleven consecutive months of sales increase. But there's one model that needs to catch up to the pace.
SOA reported another double-digit sales increase in June, continuing the upward trajectory in 2023. Subaru says sales were up 27.8 percent in June. Subaru now has eleven consecutive months with a sales increase.
In addition, all Subaru nameplates increased sales for the month. But one model can't keep up the pace this year. Check out each Subaru model's report in the links below.
SOA reported 55,168 new Subaru vehicles were delivered to customers last month compared with June 2022, when they had 43,175 sales. "The first half of 2023 has been a resounding success thanks to the exceptional efforts of our Subaru retailers. This June, their efforts led to our 11th consecutive month of sales growth, an increase of 28 percent compared to June 2022," said Jeff Walters, new President and Chief Operating Officer at Subaru of America.
One Hot New Subaru Model Is Making An Impressive Comeback
The newly upgraded 2023 Subaru Outback midsize SUV is on top again, increasing 23.5 percent in June, with 16,225 models sold compared with 13,135 in June 2022. The Outback is still the top performer in the lineup. Outback is now up 5.3 percent in the first half of 2023. Outback leads all other models with 81,403 midsize SUVs delivered to customers in the first six months.
As the next-generation model arrives, the hot Crosstrek subcompact is up again in June. As a result, Crosstrek was the second-best performer by volume, up 29.3 percent, with 13,802 sales in June compared with 10,676 in June 2023.
The Crosstrek is now up 8.7 percent for the year's first six months. Crosstrek is second in the lineup behind Outback year to date, with 76,130 models sold in the first half of the year.
In June, the 2023 Subaru Forester compact SUV is third in SOA's lineup. The Forester was up 34.2 percent, with 10,669 models sold compared with 7,953 in June 2022. Forester is now up 20.4 percent in the first six months of 2023. Forester has 61,310 models sold in the first half of 2023.
Subaru Ascent 6-Month Report Card - The SUV Is Only Average.
The refreshed 2023 Subaru Ascent is the fourth best-selling SUV in the lineup, with 5,889 3-Row SUVs delivered to customers in June. The Ascent was up 5.1 percent compared with the 5,603 models sold in June 2022. The Ascent is up 7.1 percent in the first six months, with 33,141 models sold in the first half.
All-New Next-Generation Subaru Impreza Takes Off Like A Rocket
The 2023 Subaru Impreza compact sedan and hatchback had another significant increase in June, up 39.1 percent, as the next-generation hatchback arrived last month. SOA delivered 2,954 compact models to customers in June compared with 2,124 sales in June 2022. Impreza is now up 34.7 percent in the first six months of 2023, with 19,291 models sold in the first half.
Legacy Sedan Is The Only Subaru Model Down In The First 6 Months
The 2023 Subaru Legacy midsize sedan has been down all year. But the Legacy jumps up, with 2,347 models delivered to customers in June compared with 2,026 sales in June 2022. The Legacy sedan is down 3.0 percent in the first six months, with 11,960 models sold in 2023. Legacy is the only nameplate down year to date compared with 2022.
Subaru WRX Lights It Up - 2 Reasons Why It's The Hottest Model
The 2023 Subaru WRX was up 58.8 percent in June, with 2,326 performance models delivered to customers compared with 1,465 sales in June 2022. The WRX is now up 147.5 percent in the first six months, with 15,373 models sold this year.

The all-new 2023 Subaru Solterra EV, in its seventh full month of sales, had 574 compact electric SUV sales in June. SOA has delivered 2,972 Solterra all-electric models to customers in the first six months of 2023.
The Subaru BRZ Hits The Throttle; New Upgrades Are Coming
The 2023 BRZ sports coupe is the bottom dweller in SOA's lineup, with 382 sales in June, but still up an impressive 97.9 percent for the month. BRZ had 193 sales in June 2022. BRZ is up 51.1 percent in the first six months of 2023, with 2,512 sport coupes delivered to customers.
After six months of 2023, Subaru of America has eleven consecutive months of sales increase. But this year, the Legacy sedan is the one model that can't keep up the pace.
