The 2022 Forester gets the highest safety scores, and Subaru is now making it safe for beach lovers this summer. Check out the new Forester here.
Subaru Corporation just introduced a new 2022 Forester Surf Lifesaver for keeping waterside and beach-goers safe. Subaru's goal is to make the Forester and other new models safer, so there are zero fatal traffic accidents by 2030. The Japanese automaker's goal is also to have "zero beach accidents."
Subaru says the Japanese model is supposed to support life saver surveillance and rescue activities; the "Subaru Life Saver Car" has been provided in partnership with the Japan Life Saving Association (JLA) in Minato-ku, Tokyo.
Subaru says in 2022, they will expand the number of Subaru Forester and other models provided as an official partner of JLA and give a total of 29 vehicles to JLA and 26 prefectural lifesaving associations nationwide through 23 Subaru retailers.
The 2022 Subaru Forester offers a "beach mode"
The 2022 Forester Sport and Wilderness have a new dual-function X-Mode for beach capabilities. The new system has settings for Snow and Dirt mode to the new Deep Snow/Deep Mud and Sand Mode and is best for sand where traction is compromised.
How will the beach models be used?
The "Subaru Life Saver Car" is used for local patrols, safety guidance, beach, and patrols. Subaru says in some areas, they will co-sponsor a supporter training course (educational experience) to disseminate knowledge and skills such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED (defibrillator) operation methods in cooperation with Subaru retailers.
Subaru is promoting its efforts "to protect life that goes beyond just cars." The announcement says, "Based on the idea that "I want to protect the life that cannot be protected by cars alone and make each person's life shine," we will continue to cooperate with JLA's activities aiming for zero waterside accidents and various other initiatives."
The most common beach accidents and injuries
According to the Center for Disease Control, the beach can play host to many accidents. Some of these include:
1. Drowning
2. Slip and fall or trip and fall accidents
3. Diving accidents
4. Accidents related to debris or trash
5. Exposure to unsafe substances, like algae, pollutants, or human waste
