The Subaru do 2016 WRX STI driven by Molly Taylor achieved their best result to date. How close are they to the leaders?
Molly Taylor and Bill Hayes are getting the 2016 Subaru WRX STI rally car dialed in. The Subaru do Motorsport team have achieved their best result to date. The WRX STI team made the podium again and finished round four of the 2016 Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship in second place.
Subaru Australia says the drive from Molly Taylor and Bill Hayes in South Australia this weekend was “faultless.” They started the season with their Group N Production Class Subaru WRX STI NR4, and have been making steady progress all season and getting faster with each race. This weekend, the duo backed up their second place from Heat One, to finish fourth in Heat Two.
Subaru WRX STI is in second place and ready to push for the championship
The Lightforce Rally SA result puts them squarely in second overall in the championship, and well within reach of the national title with just one round to go. Molly is Subaru’s first female rally driver and she pushed the WRX STI hard over the rally stages. “It’s been just about the perfect weekend and the car has gone superbly. The shire roads were really dry today and conditions were quite slippery, but once again the car proved its capabilities.” Molly said.
The final round of the Kumho Tyre Australian Rally Championship will be held in Coffs Harbour, November 17-20. Kennards Hire Rally Australia is also a round of the World Rally Championship, where Molly is excited to drive the 2016 Subaru WRX STI rally car. She says, “Rally Australia is the pinnacle event in the championship, and to be second in the series heading into the event gives the whole Subaru do Motorsport team a huge boost.”
