Watch the all-new 2019 Subaru Forester go where other SUVs fear. See why X MODE sets the small SUV apart from the rest.
The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester coming out this fall is likely the best small SUV for outdoor enthusiasts and can get you far away from civilization. Those who are new to the Subaru brand may not know how sought after Forester is for its extreme off-road abilities. Subaru’s all-wheel-drive vehicles have a reputation as go-anywhere workhorses and Forester still leads the way for the Japanese automaker.
The new fifth-generation Forester features an off-road system called X-Mode that is used in more extreme situations. For the owners who use the vehicle for more than a grocery hauler, this vehicle is rugged enough to handle it.
Here’s how it works. When the wheels begin to slide or slip, the X MODE switch located near the gear shift, allows the driver to keep his foot off the brake and let the system do the work. This allows the driver to keep their attention on the road. Why does Subaru bother with the X Mode system? Subaru owners are a different breed and they will use the Forester for extreme sports in the mountains where the conditions can change quickly.
When the wheels begin to slide or slip in sticky slick mud or deep snow, the average all-wheel-drive vehicle will still get stuck. The 2019 Forester with X MODE changes that and is easy to engage with the push of a switch located on the center console.
Many Forester owners won’t be sitting on the couch just watching extreme sports. These owners will use the small crossover to enjoy extreme winter sports themselves in the mountains around the globe for skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling. The all-new 2019 Subaru Forester will be used for weekend adventures like getting to the trailhead for hiking, mountain biking, trail running and backcountry fishing trips.
Urban-dwellers could also encounter sticky situations close to home. X MODE will allow any driver regardless of skill level, to escape a dicey situation with the flip of a switch and get home safely. The video below is in Japanese, but you can see how easily the new 2019 Subaru Forester X-MODE can be engaged and gets this family out of a sticky situation.
