The 2022 Subaru Forester is the hardest to find in four states, and the 2022 Outback, Ascent, and Impreza are the most scarce in one state each. Check out where the models are the most scarce across the U.S. for new car shoppers.

If you've tried to buy a 2022 Subaru Forester, Outback, Ascent, or Impreza, you know how hard they are to find. Like all automakers, the supply chain shortages have severely limited the inventory of Subaru of America's all-wheel-drive models.

The 2022 Subaru Forester compact SUV is the hardest to find in four states, and the 2022 Outback midsize SUV, Ascent 3-Row SUV, and Impreza compact sedan and hatchback are the most scarce in one city or state.

The new study from iSeeCars looked at over 224,000 vehicle sales in June to determine the most popular new cars across the U.S. nationally and in each state. The survey from iSeeCars reveals the Forester is the fastest-selling new vehicle across all states and one where it beats all other new cars.

2022 Subaru Forester

There are four states where the Forester is the hottest car on the market and will be the hardest to find for new-car shoppers this summer. The Forester compact SUV is the top-selling vehicle in Maryland, taking just 5.3 days to fly off dealers' lots. Tennessee is the next, taking Forester 6.1 days to sell, followed by New York (10.5 days) and Montana (19.8 days).

2022 Subaru Outback

There is one state where the 2022 Subaru Outback will be the most challenging to find. The Outback midsize SUV is the top-selling vehicle in Missouri, taking just 6.7 days to sell.

2022 Subaru Ascent

There is one city where the 2022 Subaru Ascent will be the most challenging to find. The Ascent 3-Row family hauler is the top-selling vehicle in Portland, Oregon taking just 14.4 days to move off dealers' lots.

2022 Subaru Impreza

There is one state where the 2022 Subaru Impreza will be the most challenging to find. The Impreza compact sedan and hatchback is the top-selling vehicle in Vermont, taking 16.d days to move off dealers' lots.

The models get excellent fuel mileage, and all come standard with Subaru's Symmetrical all-wheel-drive. Forester, Outback, and Ascent come with X-Mode for off-pavement performance, hatchback utility, get the highest safety scores, and some trims feature dual-function X-Mode for all-terrain performance.

The 2022 Forester comes in six trim levels; The Base Forester starts at $27,070, Premium ($30,070), Sport ($31,640), Limited ($33,750), new Wilderness ($34,695), and Touring ($37,170). Pricing includes destination and delivery fees ($1,175).

What is the 2022 Outback price?

The 2022 Outback comes in eight trim levels; the base trim is priced from $28,820, Premium ($31,020), Limited ($35,470), Touring ($39,370), Onyx Edition XT ($37,020), new for 2022, Outback Wilderness ($38,870), Limited XT ($39,870), and Touring XT ($41,820). Pricing includes $1,175 destination and
delivery fees.

What is the 2022 Ascent price?

The 2022 Subaru Ascent base starts at $33,970, and Premium trims begin at $36,470. The new Ascent Onyx Edition starts at $39,670. The upper Limited starts at $41,270, and the top-trim Touring has a starting MSRP of $47,120. Pricing includes destination fees ($1,175).

What is the 2022 Impreza price?

The 2022 Impreza comes in four trim levels for customers. The seven different models come in base sedan ($20,290), base hatchback ($20,790) Premium sedan ($23,690), Premium hatchback ($24,190), Sport sedan ($25,090), Sport hatchback ($24,490), and Limited hatchback ($27,890). Destination and delivery ($995) are included in the prices above.

What's next for the 2023 Forester, Outback, Ascent, and Impreza?

The 2023 Subaru Outback midsize SUV and Ascent 3-Row family hauler get a partial remodel and arrive this fall in U.S. showrooms. The 2023 Subaru Impreza remains unchanged and comes this fall. Subaru has not announced the 2023 Forester, but it should arrive this fall with no changes. Stay tuned.
