Why 10 million Mercedes C Class buyers can't be wrong

Over 10 million Mercedes-Benz C-Class cars have been delivered to customers around the globe and the 2014 C-Class is now the most popular car in the premium segment.

Mercedes-Benz has announced that they have supplied customers with over 10 million cars of the C-Class family around the globe. The first C-Class was launched in 1982 the brand has now sold more than 2.3 million sedans, estates and coupes of the current generation alone since it was unveiled in 2007. The 2014 Mercedes C-Class offers buyers a multitude of options and has something for everyone.

The first C-Class was launched as a mid-range car in 1982 and was the smallest car in the Mercedes-Benz range at the time. It received the nickname “Baby Benz.” Dr Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing Mercedes-Benz Cars: “The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a global success story. Sales of over 10 million C-Class cars speak for themselves. Launched as the ‘Baby Benz’, it is now one of the most popular cars in the premium segment. The innovative engineering and impressive efficiency of the C-Class have been inspiring our customers for more than 30 years.”

2014 Mercedes C-Class sedans sell well around the globe and have sold extremely well in the US, South Africa and the BRIC countries. Europe see’s the most demand for the estate model. The The C-Class estate accounts for nearly a million sales and was voted 2011 company car of the year in Germany. U.S. buyers aren’t interested in wagons no matter how sporty the Mercedes estate is.

The 2014 C-Class coupe remains a top seller in the U.S., Germany and China. Mercedes reports that the C-Class is also one of the most popular models among business customers. Most business customers in Europe choose the Mercedes-Benz C 220 CDI Estate for its excellent fuel economy figures.

Global performance fans have a big reason to like the C-Class of Mercedes cars. The latest 2014 AMG version of the C-Class appeals to those looking for high-performance. Exclusive, Edition 507 sedans, estates and coupes are fitted with an uprated 6.3-liter, hand built AMG V8 engine with 373 kW (507 bhp) output and 610 Nm of torque.

The special Edition 507 definitely pushes the envelope and is aimed at driving enthusiasts who take pleasure in high-performance, top-flight technology and an array of exclusive design and equipment details. Mercedes says the new 2014 C63 AMG "Edition 507" coupe and sedan will launch from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds.

This new high-performance model outperforms the existing 451 hp C63 model by three-tenths of a second, and the variants with the AMG Development Package which produce 481 hp and will be two-tenths of a second faster. It will also have a top speed of 174 mph. Those numbers should make any performance enthusiast smile.

The 2014 C 63 AMG Edition 507 was launched in Europe in June and it will be introduced in all major markets in stages. Mercedes-Benz is also offering its Chinese customers a special version of the C-Class. The special Grand Edition model with sporty AMG styling and particular market-specific color combinations comes onto the Chinese market in late August.
