Readers of the German motoring magazine “sport auto”, have spoken, and the two BMW’s are #1 in two categories. The BMW 335i is the winner in the Sedans/Estates up to 50,000 Euros and the BMW M3 takes home the trophy in the Sedans/Estates up to 100,000 Euros category.
The BMW M3 defends its title
This is the second year in a row the BMW M3 has won the award and it’s #1 with performance fans again. The M3 Sedan received 39.4 percent of reader votes and had no difficulty defending its title as best sedan up to 100,000 Euros. The performance sedan was able to increase its share of the readers vote in its second year on the market.
Performance enthusiasts voted the M3 #1 again because of it’s exceptional performance and driving dynamics on the road and track. The 2016 BMW M3 is powered by a newly developed six-cylinder inline engine that comes with M TwinPower Turbo technology and develops 317 kW/431 hp 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. This is nearly a 40 percent increase over the previous generation M3. The fifth generation M3 had a 80 kilogram reduction in weight and the powerful Sedan launches from 0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds when fitted with the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission.
The BMW 335i Sedan gets triple win
Driving enthusiasts voted the BMW 335i Sedan # 1 for the third year in a row because it dials up driver engagement. Like the performance M3, the 335i sports sedan is powered by an inline six-cylinder engine with the same BMW TwinPower turbo technology. This 3.0-liter engine develops 225 kW/306 hp and dials up the fun to-to-drive meter with its quick responses. It’s the combination of the twin scroll turbocharger, direct injection and BMW’s Valvetronic that ensures performance and fuel efficiency in the new engine.
The new 2016 BMW M3 Sedan and BMW 335i Sedan are two cars that are hard to beat when it comes to performance and dialing up driver engagement. The readers of the German motoring magazine “sport auto” think they are both #1 again.
