Consumers around the globe are the same when it comes to choosing a color on their 2018 Subaru Forester. What are the top 3 colors?
The new 2018 Subaru Forester is about to arrive and there will be three colors of the new model that will sell the best around the globe. The Forester SUV is manufactured in Gunma, Japan and Subaru Corporation knows what colors of paint to buy more of for the paint shop.
There's three colors that will outsell the rest when the new 2018 Forester arrives this month. Most global consumers like the same colors and it’s not Crystal Black Silica, Quartz Blue Pearl, Venetian Red Pearl or Jasmine Green Metallic. Globally, the top three exterior colors for the fourth generation Forester are Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal White Pearl and Dark Gray Metallic.
Why do people choose more silver and white Foresters?
With other color options, why do most consumers around the globe choose these three colors? The popularity of gray and silver, some have suggested, reflects Americans' love affair with technology on our laptops and smart phones. In the luxury segment alone, silver coat goes on 20 percent of the cars purchased, according to paint supplier PPG.
According to Phys.org, there could be a simpler answer. Silver and White cars are cooler than dark-colored cars. A light-colored shell reflects more sunlight than a dark car shell. The cooler the color, the cooler the cabin air, and the less of a need to run your air conditioner.
But many Subaru Foresters are sold in cold northern climates where it doesn’t get as hot in the summer months as it does in southern latitudes. It could also have something to do with fuel mileage. Studies show the less you run your air conditioner, the less fuel you will use. Consumers in cold climates also want to save on their fuel costs.
So if you’ve ever wondered why you see more white and silver cars on the road, it’s likely because global customers are trying to spend less at the pump. Global 2018 Subaru Forester consumers will choose more silver, white and grey models when they arrive later this month.

I bought the same color in
I bought the same color in the top of page image when I took home my 2016 Forester new. Here in New England, we learn quickly to always buy silvers for the winter cars we use daily. They all end up covered in salt anyway, and you can't keep a Black, Blue, or Red car clean from November through May. Silver stays cleaner looking longer. If I could keep it clean, I'd opt for black. I had to chuckle when I saw the new Black Editions from Subaru. If only!
When did Subaru make
When did Subaru make "midnight Brown??" It looks almost metallic black with brown /plum undertones....georgeous. and w/. saddle (dk.) brown interior.
I heard they only made about 2000 of them.....classic.. Have only seen one....not 2018 I believe!
