Subaru Southern Africa is the new official vehicle partner of the South African Sport Hall of Fame. What does this tell us about the new Forester SUV?
The Subaru brand is all about adventure and offering its owners the ability to get away from civilization. Subaru Southern Africa will now be the new official vehicle partner of the South African Sport Hall of Fame (SASHOF). They will supply the non-profit organization with a number of 2016 Subaru Foresters, Outbacks and XV Crosstreks to assist them in doing their work. The specific objective of the Hall of Fame is to acknowledge and preserve South Africa’s rich and diverse sporting heritage.
Subaru’s involvement with the new Forester is a natural fit for the Japanese automaker. According to Subaru Southern Africa’s Brand and Marketing Manager, Ashley Lazarus: “Sport and adventure go hand-in-hand and we’re a brand with an adventurous spirit. Owners of our cars tend to love sport in all its shapes and forms.”
Subaru is a brand that doesn’t fit the typical auto mold. They’ve always done things a little differently than most automakers and it fits what adventure seeks and sports men and women are all about. The recreation-purposed car brand’s focus is building all-wheel-drive vehicles like the Forester SUV with a “go-anywhere” attitude.
Why is Subaru a brand for the adventurous?
In the U.S., Subaru has been attracting new buyers to their showrooms and consumers who have never purchased a Subaru before are buying the multi-use vehicles for recreation. Subaru has reported that 60 percent of those buyers are new to the brand. And many of those buyers are younger millennials who lead active lifestyles.
A new generation of active millennial consumers are looking for vehicles they can use to commute to work during the week, and take to the mountains and beach on the weekends. Their all-wheel-drive vehicles like the 2016 Forester, Outback and XV Crosstrek are designed for recreation, and are appealing to a young active generation.
It starts with Subaru’s excellent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and raised ground clearance, but Forester, Outback and XV Crosstrek also feature numerous details that help make it more convenient to load and carry cargo as well as carry items such as kayaks, surfboards and mountain bikes.
The new 2016 Subaru Forester and Outback also include a X-Mode, Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist augmenting Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive for active buyers who will use their Subarus for off-road and slick and icy conditions on the mountain trails. The lifestyle-orientated car brand is perfect for those with an adventurous spirit.
