It’s T-minus 5 days to the live stream reveal of the all-new 2024 Subaru Impreza at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Find out if Subaru will drop or keep the sedan body style.
Will Subaru of America keep the sedan body style when the next-generation compact is revealed this month? The live stream reveal of the all-new next-generation 2024 Subaru Impreza is coming from the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17 at 12:25 EST. We will soon find out.
In the teaser image Subaru of America released last week, the Impreza is shown as a hatchback, the top-selling trim level over the sedan. The Impreza sedan sales are down, with compact car buyers choosing more hatchback body styles because of its utility.
Active urban dwellers use the Impreza to commute during the week and take weekend excursions to the mountains and the beach. The Impreza hatchback offers more cargo room for camping gear and sports equipment than the sedan offers.
The Impreza is struggling with an identity crisis. The Impreza is playing second behind the hot Crosstrek subcompact SUV, a lifted version of the Impreza. The Crosstrek has developed a unique identity and is the number-one-selling vehicle in the all-wheel-drive lineup.
The Impreza should be a hot model for Subaru of America with its excellent fuel mileage, standard all-wheel-drive, and hatchback body style. Instead, the Impreza is languishing in fifth place in sales, with 25,490 models delivered to U.S. customers, and is down 3.2 percent for the year.
After 30 years, it’s time for the Impreza compact car to grow up, distance itself from the Crosstrek, and develop a unique identity. Subaru could make the Impreza the hot new hatchback in the lineup. A fuel-efficient and more powerful 1.8-liter turbocharged engine from the Japan-spec Levorg could set it apart from Crosstrek and the competition.
Impreza is living in the Crosstrek’s shadow, and it’s getting lost. The Impreza has a significant place in Subaru’s lineup and can be a top-selling vehicle if Subaru makes some changes to the 30-year-old model. Will Subaru be bold?
Compact car shoppers can see the all-new 2024 Subaru Impreza at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The show runs from Friday, November 18, through Sunday, November 27.
The world premiere will stream live from Los Angeles “so you can experience all the high-tech upgrades, exciting new features, and restyled design,” Subaru said in its announcement. Will Subaru keep or drop the sedan body style? Find out on the live stream reveal on November 17 at 12:25 EST. Subaru says you can see the new, “endlessly versatile” 2024 Impreza.

hello Denis,
hello Denis,
respectively, disagree with you.
subaru is making a big mistake, to lower the ground clearance of the crosstrek. now, there is not real, day to day, practical difference between the impreza and the crosstrek.
and this is done just to make room for the crosstrek wilderness which will sell in small numbers and cost a lot more.
so with your idea, to give the impreza a turbo engine, why would anybody purchase the crosstrek?
and that turbo engine will just raise the price of the impreza.
subaru needs a cheap entry level car for first time buyers.
thanks,
david
