The Hyundai Prophecy concept is a stunning looking EV car that represents future Hyundai design and technology moving forward.
I just wanted to take another deep dive into the Hyundai Prophecy EV concept car because it’s just too gorgeous to ignore. The elegant four-door coupe looking thing that could give the Porsche Taycan a run for its money is a car I think we all want Hyundai to make.
The Hyundai Prophecy EV concept was released in March 2020 as a sneak peek into what future Hyundai products may look like. The Prophecy uses clean round lines that are exceptionally aerodynamic as EVs require great aero to be efficient. Much of the proportions remind me of the Porsche Taycan but with cooler taillights and a Bat Mobile vibe, probably because it’s all black.
Although the Prophecy is an EV, my dream is to see the 5.0 Tau engine with a throaty exhaust on this bad boy. But let’s be honest, that’s never going to happen, but I would like to see this car come to life somehow. This car reminds me of the Genesis Essentia concept, looks epic. Still, we will most likely only see bits and pieces of the exterior make its way on future models; for instance, those sick taillights would be cool to see on a future Sonata or something.
Another concept we saw get released is the EV 45 concept. Both the EV 45 and Prophecy concept share a living room vibe when it comes to the interior. Hyundai is going for this carpeted and spacious feel for optimal comfort. You even have swiveling chairs that recline so you and your friends can have some intimate conversations.
There is no steering wheel in the Prophecy, Hyundai gave you some futuristic joysticks to play with instead. This soullessness is why I want one more generation of a cool looking car like this Prophecy but with an organic feeling steering and a proper motor, not a living room with no real controls, but again, this is just a concept.
Another unique aspect of the Prophecy EV concept is the way it offers clean, purified air from the outside. Once the air has circulated, the air gets pushed outside, so the outside air going in comes out cleaner, making the world a better place.
The Prophecy EV concept from Hyundai is gorgeous. I doubt it will make it into production looking that sleek, nor do I know what car this would replace in the Hyundai line up. It seems to look too cool for a full-on Sonata replacement. This car looks like a rear-wheel-drive European sports sedan that demands over a $100,000. Even if it is an EV, I want to see this thing influence some future projects at Hyundai. Let me know your thoughts on the Hyundai Prophecy EV concept.
