U.S. News & World Report named the 2020 Hyundai Sonata and 2020 Santa Fe as the best new car and SUV for teens. The 2017 Hyundai Tucson was named the best-used SUV for teens.
Hyundai Best Car For Teens Award
Three of Hyundai’s vehicles just got named the best vehicle for teens by U.S. News & World Report. I’m glad the 2017 Hyundai Tucson got mentioned as being “Best Used SUV for teens” because the 2020 Sonata and 2020 Santa Fe, which were named “Best New Car” and “Best New SUV” for teens is a tad over budget unless daddy’s paying.
So what were these results based on? A combination of predicted reliability, crash test scores, and available driver assistance features played a part. For the “Best Used Cars for Teens” segment, vehicles had to be between 2015-2017 and have the best combination of dependability, safety ratings, ownership costs, and positive reviews from automotive reviewers when the car was new. The used vehicles tested also needed to have safety tech available.
2020 Hyundai Sonata
The 2020 Sonata was chosen for the best new car between $30k-$35k, already putting teens in the poor house, but that’s ok, I guess, daddy can bail you out later. In all seriousness, The new Sonata is a supremely safe car with all the safety tech you can throw at the vehicle while having a luxury car level of refinement and comfort.
2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai’s 2020 Santa Fe made the list for similar reasons, like the Sonata, you get a plethora of safety features that honestly makes you a worse driver if you keep relying on it. Honestly, teens should learn to drive without all this tech but only have it available just in case to prevent those moments that we don’t want to happen. Much like the Sonata, the Santa Fe carries with it a supremely quiet and comfortable experience that even exceeds certain luxury cars.
2017 Hyundai Tucson
I’m glad to see the 2017 Tucson make the list because let’s be honest, this is the most affordable and most realistic choice in the lineup of winners. You can even get Certified Pre-Owned options that give the buyer the remainder of Hyundai’s legendary 10-year powertrain warranty. The 2017 Tucson also comes with available safety tech like pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, standard backup cameras, rear cross-traffic alert, etc.
Hyundai has come a long way from the early 2000s cars. Now Hyundai’s are top vehicles and Top Safety Picks as well. You should feel confident putting your family in one and being backed by the business’s best warranty certainly provides peace of mind. The refinement and comfort of these machines is the cherry on top.
