If you live in Colorado and qualify, you can get a Tesla for nearly free, especially when you look at existing inventory of 2024 models. Getting a Tesla for nearly free is mind-blowing.
You Can Get a Tesla For Nearly Free In Colorado
If you live in Colorado, you are in luck if you want to buy a Tesla. Even if you don't want to buy one, it makes sense to do so. In fact, you can get a Tesla for nearly free with all the incentives. Let's take a look at a Model Y long range, rear-wheel drive from 2024 in Tesla's existing inventory.
It has a base price of $43,700 - down from $46,990 normally.
That's a $3,290 inventory discount.
Then you have the $7,500 EV tax credit.
Then you have a $5,350 state EV rebate.
Then, you have a $1,000 Tesla military discount.
Then, you have a $6,000 EV exchange program discount.
Then, you have a $5,500 Xcel energy EV rebate.
Then, you can get $5,000 worth of referral credits.
Then, you have a $500 referral discount.
This puts the final price of this EV, which is practically new, at around $7,800.
Now, you have to have a lower income for some of these incentives - nevertheless, they are very generous incentives from the state of Colorado.
There are other steals for Tesla vehicles. There is a 2020 Model Y that is used for $25,000, and it has FSD on it. The range of this vehicle, starting at 326 miles, is likely 293 miles - which isn't too bad. Add in the used EV tax credit and you have a steal.
EVs are becoming cheaper and cheaper to buy, and Tesla has now introduced 0% financing for Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, further adding to the cost reductions. What other company is doing this?
Some might say that Tesla has a demand problem, so it is doing this. Whatever the reason, Tesla is looking to clear out all of its inventory and I think they are getting ready for new models in 2025, as well as the upcoming compact models. All Tesla vehicles are going to get better over time, making it an attractive option to upgrade your EV.
Now is as good a time as any to get a Tesla EV. The EV tax credit will most likely go away next year, assuming a Donald Trump presidential victory.
