There have been many wanting Tesla to advertise and Tesla may be starting to listen.
Tesla Advertising on Its Home Page
Two ETF owners, Gary Black and Ross Gerber, have been proponents for Tesla to advertise. There are several reasons for this. One, they believe that Tesla needs to increase the education of their products for the average consumer.
Second, both own ETF funds that have Tesla, the stock, in them. Each has reduced their Tesla stock size due to concerns about the company and better opportunities elsewhere. It's easy to see why they want Tesla to advertise - they want higher margins and more profits, so the stock price goes up right now.
Tesla may be starting to listen in regard to advertising as they have changed their home page. When you visit the Tesla home page, you get an "Experience a Tesla" video with various Tesla vehicles, including a launch in what appears to be a Model S Plaid. The first option you get is to do a demo drive in a Tesla.
I think this is a good move by Tesla and a nice, good, first step. On the schedule a demo drive page, you can select from one of four vehicle types: Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.
Then a form needs to be filled out and a time to schedule the demo drive done. There's also a checkbox for interest in solar and Powerwall. Tesla should do all it can with its own website, but will this satisfy those criticizing Tesla's lack of advertising? I don't think it will.

Other Advertisements
There's been a push from "retail" investors in Tesla to advertise as well. I think this is a good move because if a retail investor owns stock in Tesla, they are going to want to help the company and mission as much as possible - you would hope at least.
Sawyer Merritt, a Tesla Twitter user, made a video showing how good a deal the Model Y is compared to other cars in the industry, including hybrid vehicles.
Still, Gary's response to this kind of advertising is that this won't drive EV adoption and that Tesla needs to spend the "big bucks" needed to educate and inform the masses about their product.
Elon Musk has said that the issue with a Tesla is that people cannot afford them. It's a continued "see-saw" battle between those who say Tesla should advertise and those who say that a Tesla sells itself and just needs to be more affordable.
I think it's possible that both camps of people are right and simply just arguing for the sake of arguing.
Do you think Tesla should do paid advertising?
