Lucid's EV super sedans are making their way around the globe to owners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Lucid's EV super sedans are making their way around the globe to owners in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a recent interview with VP and Managing Director of Lucid Middle East, Faisal Sultan.
Speaking with the Saudi Arabian financial news outlet Argaam, Sultan said that the first examples of Lucid's record-breaking EV were in the hands of their new Saudi owners. The Lucid Air Pure starts at 440,000 Saudi Ryals and the range top out with the SAR 960,000 Lucid Air Dream Edition.
Sultan also said that Lucid has thousands of reservations on the books in the Kingdom and in other Gulf nations, with the company targeting deliveries in the hundreds over the coming months. This target is well on its way to be met, he asserted, as Lucid is reportedly sending hundreds of Air sedans to the Kingdom each week, though this figure is limited by the number of cars the American automaker is able to pack onto transport ships for each trip.

AMP-2: Lucid's Saudi Factory
The Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund is Lucid's largest shareholder and Lucid has enjoyed favorable treatment from the Saudi government as the Kingdom looks to nurture its own automotive industry. Construction of Lucid's second factory facility, known as Advanced Manufacturing Plant-2, or AMP-2, is underway in King Abdullah Economic City in the Kingdom's north with operations expected to commence towards the end of this year.
AMP-2 will first assemble knock-down Lucid Air kits before transitioning to full-on production within the following year or two. Annual production capacity is planned for 150,000 vehicles.
AMP-2 will primarily supply demand for Middle-Eastern nations, as well as working to fill the 100,000 vehicle order placed by the Saudi government in 2022.
