After hinting and teasing for months, Jaguar unveiled the 2018 XF Sportbrake. The best part? It will be arriving in North America this winter.
The XF Sportbrake shares a lot in common with the sedan in terms of design. The only difference is in the back where Jaguar's designers extended the roofline and added a tailgate that is similar in design to the F-Pace crossover. While it might look bigger than the sedan, the Sportbrake is the same length as the sedan - 195 inches.
The roofline extension provides additional space for cargo. Open the rear hatch and you'll find 31.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. Fold them down and space increases to 69.1 cubic feet.
North America will only get one powertrain for the XF Sportbrake - a supercharged 3.0L V6 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. This comes paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Other markets will get a selection of four and six-cylinder engines, along with the choice of rear- or all-wheel drive. The XF Sportbrake does feature a new rear-suspension, swapping coil springs for an air suspension setup. This is to help counteract heavy loads in the cargo area.
Pricing for the 2018 XF Sportbrake begins at $71,445 with destination.
