Audi would have liked to make the RS3 Sedan a surprise at this week's Paris Motor Show. But thanks to a leaked video and roadmap, we knew a fair amount about. At least Audi has gone forward tell us the various details of their newest RS model.
We'll begin with the most important part, the powertrain. The RS3 Sedan uses a turbocharged 2.5L five-cylinder engine with 400PS (about 395 horsepower) and 354 pound-feet of torque. This is paired up with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and quattro all-wheel drive. Audi says the RS3 sedan can hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 155 mph. If you ask Audi, they'll increase the top speed to 174 mph.
Audi has also made a number of changes to the chassis and suspension for the RS3. They include a wider track to fit meatier tires, lowered suspension, larger brakes, and unique tuning for the traction and stability control systems. A set of adjustable dampers are optional.
Outside, the RS3 boasts a new bumper with large air inlets, honeycomb grille, LED headlights, and a lip spoiler. The interior comes with a flat-bottom steering wheel and a seven-inch screen for the infotainment system.
The best news is that the RS3 Sedan will be coming to the U.S. The bad news is you'll have to wait until next summer to get your hands on one.
