Hyundai is very serious about building its Genesis brand into a formidable luxury brand.
Case in point is the announcement of Manfred Fitzgerald who become the Senior Vice President for Genesis starting next month. In this position, Fitzgerald will oversee brand strategy, marketing and other business operations within the Genesis brand.
Before being brought into Genesis, Fitzgerald was the director of branding and design for Lamborghini. Joining the company in 1999, Fitzgerald was a key player in transforming Lamborghini from a "prototype car company" to one of the most respective sports car builders. He left company in 2011 to join a German television maker, before setting up a consultancy firm in 2013.
Fitzgerald is the latest catch for Hyundai. Earlier in the year, Hyundai announced that former design chief of Bentley, Luc Donckerwolke would become the head of the automaker's new Prestige Design Division (who will be charged with designing future Genesis models).
