Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to launch their next-generation compact lineup beginning with the new A-Class hatchback and sedan. Rumor had it that Mercedes was planning to launch the sedan in the U.S. We now have confirmation of this.
Automotive News (Subscription Required) has learned from dealers that Mercedes will begin selling the all-new A-Class sedan in the U.S. next fall. The announcement was made at a meeting in Miami this month where dealers got a chance to see the vehicle in person.
"It's a very nice-looking vehicle," said Ken Schnitzer, chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Board and owner of four Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Texas.
"I'm sure it will be competitively priced."
Another dealer told the publication that Mercedes could have a hit if the price was below at the $30,000 mark.
Mercedes declined to comment on the A-Class sedan or the dealer meeting when asked by Automotive News.
As we reported last month, Mercedes-Benz was planning to launch the A-Class sedan in the U.S. either late next year or early 2019.
